La Jolla Small Winter Wedding
We started with some getting ready photos in their home. I photographed a few details for them and then got to capture Allison’s last getting ready touches. Those included a special moment with her mom helping her to get ready. Since both she and Hongkee got ready there, we also took advantage of doing a few portraits in their home adding to that personal touch.
Their church is very pretty on the inside and out. On the inside, it’s a little bit darker from the stain glass windows which gave it a very warm feel to it. It complimented nicely their winter decor. On the outside, it had brick walls and large columns. It was a great backdrop for photos with friends and family.
For their reception, they invited their guests to join them for lunch at Duke’s La Jolla. This restaurant has a patio with a great view of the Ocean. After a few welcome and thank you words, Hongkee and Allison walked over to the cake and shared their first bite of cake as husband and wife.
The timing for their La Jolla small winter wedding worked out perfectly. Once lunch was over, we met for some fun downtown La Jolla wedding photos. Then we drove down to Windansea Beach for some sunset wedding photos. We arrived shortly before sunset and were rewarded with an ever-changing colorful sky. It provided different beautiful backdrops without having to go far at all.
While we got some beautiful photos from the day. My favorite part was getting to see Allison and Hongkee enjoy time with each other and with their family. I’m glad that they came along for their portraits and had fun with the couple.
