Sunset Beach Wedding Portraits
It’s amazing that these sunset beach wedding portraits almost never happened. I got a direct message on Instagram from Capri and Elijah the night before their Chula Vista Courthouse wedding ceremony. They decided to get a photographer for their wedding at the last minute. With no time to waste, I got on the phone with them and we made plans for their session the following day.
The thing that they wanted the most were nice portraits of them in their formal wedding attire. After a little back and forth figuring out the game plan, they opted for a sunset portrait session in Imperial Beach.
It was a hot day with temperatures at the beach in the 90’s, but you can’t tell from the photos. They were all smiles and did great in front of the camera just being themselves. We started with a few portraits with a clean wall and then walked across the street to the beach. The beach was packed, so we had to get a little creative with angles. The outcome was some really fun portraits.
At one point we did not notice a wave roll in. It was a little bit of initial shock but they embraced the moment and went in for a big kiss. It’s my favorite photo from the session. I’m very happy that I got to work with them to create these images.
