Marina Village Wedding

To me it is a big deal anytime someone that has been in my life for a long time asks me to shoot their wedding. Albert and I go back to when we were kids. His family considers me a part of their family. So it’s a really big deal when Albert and his fiance Monica asked me to photograph their Marina Village wedding.

The wedding day started with me meeting Monica at her parent’s house for preparation photos. I got to shoot the shoes and the dress before her mom helped her into it. After she was ready, we headed off to the Hilton in Mission Bay where the guys were getting ready. They had a big wedding party with a lot of energy, but they took instructions well, so we moved through photos pretty fast.

Their ceremony took place on the north lawn of Marina Village with water and boats in the background.  For their reception, they used the Bayview room at Marina Village. The view has a great western view overlooking the marina and all the yachts. During dinner time, there is often a nice sunset and it’s an awesome visual treat for wedding guests. When the light began to light up in orange, I grabbed Monica and Albert, and we ran outside for some pretty epic sunset photos. I often am told, “man that looks so fake, was the sky really like that.” In this case, if I had not been there I would not believe it myself. It was like fire in the sky.

My favorite part about their wedding day was the dancing part of the reception. Everyone got up and dance and showed off their moves. It was a fun night with a lot of fun people.

Vendors that made their wedding day a success include:
Ceremony Venue: North Lawn at Marina Village
Reception Venue: Bayview Room at Marina Village
DJ – Fiesta Latina Disk Jockey
