If you are going to have a destination wedding in San Diego why not go somewhere with an awesome view? That’s exactly what Stephanie and Kyle did when they chose the Thursday Club Wedding Venue for their reception. It’s a fantastic location for guests to enjoy the beauty the Pacific Ocean has to offer.

Sometimes with destination wedding couples I don’t get to meet them before the wedding day. Since Stephanie and Kyle came out here to do site visits and tastings I took the opportunity to meet with them while they were out here so that we could know each other a little better. Meeting in person also helped with hearing about what is most important for them when it comes to their photos and going over a game plan for their wedding day to make those photos happen.

On the day of their wedding things went according to plan. I started with bride prep photos at a beach house rental and I sent my second photographer to the Founders Chapel to get some photos of the groom getting ready for the ceremony. After the ceremony I sent my second shooter to photograph the details at the Thursday Club. This allowed us to make the most of our time before and after the ceremony so that we could have time for some fun portraits at an additional location.

This group was a lot of fun to work with. The wedding party had a lot of energy but still listened and took direction well. It makes it so much easier to get great photos when people are willing to have fun but still listen to instructions. The guests were also great and really showed how happy they were to be there celebrating Stephanie and Kyle. The moves on the dance floor were awesome!

I really wanted to head down to the cliffs for some photos at sunset, but I’m kind of glad we didn’t. The Thursday Club has a great view from the balcony and it was cool to photograph the couple on it and in the courtyard below with the sun setting behind them. My favorite part of working with Stephanie and Kyle was watching them be them selves in front of the camera and having fun with each other. I specially enjoyed watching them dance in the courtyard during their sunset photos.
