Imperial Beach Wedding
The one thing that I took away and loved the most about Nadya and Dan’s Imperial Beach wedding was how they were determined to have the wedding that they dreamed about. That dream was a beachfront ceremony on the sand and a reception with the right mixture of a classy dance party and laid back feel of bar games.
For their reception, they booked Marina Village located in Mission Bay. Unfortunately for them, there was nowhere nearby in Mission Beach that they could get married on the sand. They searched up and down the coastline for a location until they found the perfect spot for them in Imperial Beach. This worked out perfectly because their home was in Imperial Beach. They ended up getting ready at home and it was great to be able to photograph them there. I loved placing her wedding shoes and jewelry on the home decor. Not only did it look great, but I thought it was a more meaningful backdrop.
With the ceremony and the reception being 30 minutes apart and there having to be set up at both, I can imagine that logistically it was not the easiest thing to do. But it was no problem for their wedding planner Thomas of Weddings by Thomas Lewis. Thomas even made sure that there was no one too close to their ceremony spot so that they would not be in the background of the photos.
Their reception was so much fun! I loved how it was the traditional reception with all the formalities but they added an extra layer of fun with games. They had an area for shuffle board, beer pong and corn-hole. Once all the formalities were done the dancing was happening, they even combined those areas. Their DJ, Drew did a great job of keeping the party going. It was great seeing the couple go from dancing to playing games. One of my favorite moments from the wedding was watching Nadya play beer pong against her dad. I’ve seen plenty of father-daughter dances, but father-daughter beer pong was a first for me.
Of course, this wedding could not have been as big of a success and looked as good as it did if it was not for all the hard working vendors:
Vendors that made their wedding day a success include:
