Spring Mini Portrait Session
Kids grow up so fast! That’s one of the reasons that every year I offer families an opportunity for a spring mini portrait session. It’s an opportunity to capture adorable family moments in a casual setting. I have this day to give families an economical option to update their family photos.
Last year mini session day was at Marian Bear Park. It’s one of my favorite portrait locations because it offers a some really great nature backdrops. During the spring the fields turn green and sometimes we even get flowers.
This is one of my favorite sessions from last year. The Pham family came out ready for some fun and had me on my toes with all the candid moments.
Photographing children over the years, I have learned that the best way to do it is to let them play. We play for a few minutes, then we sit for 30 seconds and pose. Then repeat. This way they don’t get anxious from having to stay in place for too long.
With the Pham family we spent a majority of the 20 minute session having the kids play. All we needed was a few photos of everyone looking at the camera. The rest was all about capturing their personality as a young family.
