If I had to sum up Colleen and Ramiro’s Daley Ranch Wedding with two words, I would have to use the words personal and fun. While these words can be overused to describe events like weddings, I can make a strong argument for why these are the perfect words.
The Details
The first thing is the tiny hidden details. Have you ever heard of Hidden Mickeys? Hidden Mickeys are when an image of Mickey Mouse is hidden in to a design. If you go to Disneyland you can find them all over the park. They took their love of Disneyland and hid Mickeys all over the wedding. From the shoes, to the cake, bouquet, stationary and other items, if you looked close enough you could find them. Another cool detail was the use of Captain America and other comic book references throughout the the wedding details.
There were also details included that were unique to their family. The couple has military family members on both sides and they carried hidden military pins on their wedding outfits. Another detail that was unique to their family is their love of baseball. Baseball is a family tradition; a lot of the family members played and coached so they had baseball references throughout.
Perhaps the reason I got on their radar is that just like me they love craft beer. They tied in to the San Diego craft beer world and have friends and family members that work for breweries. There was some great craft beer at their wedding and it was cool meeting people at their wedding who have been influential in the craft beer movement.
Daley Ranch Wedding Venue
This was my first Daley Ranch Wedding and I really enjoyed photographing there. The cabin was great for prep photos and even the first look. The original plan was to do the first look outside, but when things ran a little late and guests started to arrive the main room in the cabin provided privacy and a great backdrop for it. I also really enjoyed all of the trees that we were able to use for backgrounds. I could not have asked for nicer locations for portraits.
The Couple
There was plenty of cool decor and details with this wedding that made this Daley Ranch Wedding personalized for this couple. However what I will take away and remember the most is just how great Colleen and Ramiro are as people. I can’t think of anyone that is more fun loving and easy going. I also can’t think of anyone that is more passionate about showing their family how much they love them. In the photos, throughout the whole day, you can see just how much love they have through all of the emotion they show.
One of my favorite moments was when we were done with photos and I said they can go ahead and return to the reception. I had never had a couple run back to their reception the way that they did. It was like they could not wait another minute to get back and continue celebrating with the people that they love. I am thankful to get to be a part of days like this and to get to know such great people.
