Bernardo Winery Wedding

For Michelle and Brant having a Bernardo Winery Wedding was like having a wedding at home. This winery has been a special place for Brant most of his life and the people that work there are like family to him. Also, being one of San Diego’s best wedding photographers, Brant has made many friendships with wedding professionals and hired some of his favorites for their wedding. 

The Rancho Bernardo Inn is just a few minutes away from the winery so we started there for getting ready photos. The room was spacious and had some great light coming through the balcony windows. We got some fun getting ready photos and then did the first look. The RB Inn can have multiple weddings happening at a time, but since the property is large there are lots of great places for photos. We found an empty lawn that is usually used for ceremonies and did their first look and wedding party photos on it. 

There is something special about Bernardo Winery. Stepping into it I always feel like I am at a theme park. There is a comfort of being in a place surrounded by greenery and old western decor. The delicious wine also helps.

What stood out to me the most about the day was the way that Brant and Michelle showed love towards the people that were there. Through the whole day, I could see them fully in the moment and engage in a way that showed true appreciation for whom ever was in front of them at the time. It was clear that everyone that was there was special to them. 

For me, this was a special day on so many levels. Brant is one of the photographers who I learned from when I first got started and still learn new things from to this day. To be picked by someone who I consider one of the best is an amazing honor. It was also special on a friend level. While it’s nice to be invited to a wedding, but as a friend, I feel like the best thing that I can do is be behind the camera.
