There are many reasons why San Diego is a popular destination for a beach elopement. One of them is great looking venues with a private beach like the Kona Kai Resort & Spa. There are lots of San Diego wedding venues that offer special elopement packages or access to their grounds during a vacation stay for a wedding ceremony.
Nina and Anthony planned their San Diego beach elopement around their stay at the Kona Kai. They came out on vacation from the east coast and planned for their wedding halfway through their stay in San Diego.
We started their elopement by walking to the back of the resort where there was a quiet place on the beach. Nina and Anthony walked barefoot onto the sand and joined their small group of witnesses for their wedding. Deborah Young officiated their wedding and guided them through their wedding vows as well as some spiritual visualizations. Their ceremony concluded with releasing of some doves.
After the ceremony, we walked around the resort for some portraits of the two of them. The Kona Kai had no shortage of great backgrounds for wedding portraits. I felt like I could have easily spent another hour walking around taking photos of them. It was also because Nina and Anthony made it easy to work with them. I love it when a couple is trusting and lets me work for them even when they can’t see right away what I’m trying to create.
It was a pleasure to work with Nina and Anthony.
