Point Loma Base Wedding
A Point Loma Base wedding back to back? What are the odds with so many wedding venues in San Diego? I was happy to return to Ocean View at Ballast Point. It is such a great location to get married at and celebrate. Sitting steps away from ocean water, below Cabrillo National Monument it has a great looking backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
Brianne and Joe made their wedding day super easy by getting ready at the Naval Inn right next to the venue. I think this was the shortest travel distance ever for me between the getting ready, the ceremony and the reception locations. It was cool not to have to think about driving or walking long distances to get to the next part of the wedding day.
The best part of the day for me was watching Brianne and Joe interact with each other and their family. I felt that every time I pointed my camera in a different direction I was capturing another special moment. I could see strong family connections.
Their reception was a lot of fun. After the toasts, Brianne had an outfit change and came out to dance the tango for their first dance. Besides being impressed by their choreographed dance, I was also impressed with how fast she came back out in her wedding dress to dance with her father. It’s sometimes the little displays of physical skills that have a lasting impression on me. After the formalities, DJ Matt Phipps of Choice Entertainment, kept rocking the crowd until it was time for the base guard to tell us to go.
